GWIMPEXP.EXE ============ GWIMPEXP.EXE is a "universal" import / export tool for 32 bit GroupWise 5.x and 6.x. It uses the GroupWise Object API to exchange data between GroupWise and text files. Address book and calendar data are supported. VERSION 1.06c - 10/15/2004 ========================== minor fixes to improve AM/PM and 24 hour time handling. proxy support VERSION 1.06b - 6/13/2003 ========================= Added more date fields to task export. VERSION 1.06 - 1/14/2000 ======================== Uses ==== GWIMPEXP.EXE can be used to import data from another system into GroupWise. If the other product supports a text file export, you can configure GWIMPEXP.EXE for the format of the file, choose the file, and import the data. GWIMPEXP.EXE can also be used to export data from GroupWise to a text file. This can be useful when trying to copy GroupWise data into a personal digital assistant, Timex Datalink watch, etc. for which there is no synchronization software available. As long as the other program or device can import data from a text file, you can use GWIMPEXP.EXE to get the data from GroupWise. Usage ===== GWIMPEXP.EXE should be run on a machine that has 32 bit GroupWise Windows client running in a 32 bit Windows environment and has access to the file(s) that was exported from the other data source. When you first start GWIMPEXP.EXE, make sure the settings for date mask, destination, delimiters, and filter are correct before selecting the input file. delimiters are the most important to get right since they are used when reading in the import file to present the field list. Next, select the file to import. The field list should populate based on the first line of data in the file. Re-arrange the fields to match the GroupWise item type fields with the import file fields. (click once on a field and use the up and down arrows to change order) (double click on a field to remove it from the list) When you are satisfied with the setup, click the Import button to start the import running. Note that save settings doesn't do much in the current version. This isn't likely to change as architectural changes to the overall project would be needed in order to save and restore field lists. If you have a specific use and want to be able to run it without configuration, email me about custom programming options. License ======= GWIMPEXP.EXE is free for all GroupWise users. Support ======= No official support is offered at this time. Please send all bug reports to slewis@slewis.org.
