ABSTRACT:

NSSCHECK.NLM is a utility to check the format of the MAL information stored on
the disk.  It is completely different than validating a volume.  It only checks
the MAL segment information to see if it is valid for an upgrade to work
correctly.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

 
It is executed on a 5.x server prior to upgrade just by loading the nlm.  The
result will be displayed on the screen.  It does not modify anything at this
stage.
 
There is one check that has failed in the past that this utility can fix.  If
this is found, it will display a message indicating that an error was found,
and to rerun the nlm as follows "load nsscheck.nlm /r".  The "/r" will indicate
to the nlm to fix up the data in the MAL area in order to upgrade it properly.
 
Any other errors should be investigated.  Most will prevent valid upgrades,
some will not.



ISSUE: 

This version will repair volumes greather than 2TB.
