Syslogd is a small utility who receive all messages sent to port 514. It displays them on the screen and stores them in the file syslogd.log. This NLM in this release 0.2Beta is emailware. So if you use it, please send me a message with some feedback about the product. If there are a lot of users, I will consider to make a full syslogd implementation available as shareware. Special notes: When unloading syslogd one BSD socket and a file handle are not returned to the system. This is normal and should not cause problems on 4.11 servers. On 3.x server it is quite probable that this would abend the server !!!!!! The logfile is located in SYS:SYSLOGD.LOG. You can specify the new location on the commandline. The logfile is now automaticaly rotated, when it exceeds 1024kBytes. The current logfile is renamed to .old and a new logfile is started.
