ABSTRACT:

LANCHECK.EXE is a utility that displays the ODI version that a LAN driver is
written to support. This utility scans the LAN driver and displays the
specification string. This string identifies the ODI version.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Copy this file into any Windows 95/98/NT workstation directory. LANCHECK.EXE is
a Windows 95/NT based utility. 

To begin execution:
1) Double click on the utility after first downloading it into a directory on
your Windows 95/NT workstation. 

2) Enter the PATH name in the upper right corner of the LANCHECK.EXE utility
window that is displayed after double clicking.  This PATH should point to the
directory (e.g. SYS: SYSTEM) where the LAN drivers are located. 

3) Select the LAN driver you want to check by clicking on its name. The Driver
Name, Date, Timestamp, Version, and HSM_SPEC_VERSION level will be displayed.
The value displayed for the HSM_SPEC_VERSION is the ODI specification that this
LAN driver is written to support.

The following example is the LANCHECK.EXE display for the NE.LAN driver: This
driver has been written to support the ODI 3.31 spec..

ISSUE: 

This utility displays the ODI driver information to determine if your driver is
written to support ODI 3.31 specification.

LANCHECK was revised to display HSM information for some drivers.
